Cheap laptops

I'm after a cheap laptop for my mum, all it is needed for is some word docs and internet surfing.

Been looking at the Dell website which has a couple of good deals.

If you want really cheap then a refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad T480, Intel i5 processor, 8GB+ RAM, 256GB+ SSD (depending on your storage requirements). It supports windows 11 and should be under £200 on eBay.

Slightly off topic but has anyone tried a Chromebook ?
the only thing putting me off is the lack of ability to install programs like photoshop etc.

I understand the concept that a lot of people just do web browsing, email and maybe some apps but I don’t like the idea of them lacking the versatility of a ‘proper’ OS. A lot of schools get them as they are cheap but IMO it limits the students knowledge when it comes to future employment. They could be good for aging people who just want the basics and fewer distractions.

Lots of genuine refurbished machines on amazon i bought one a few months back all good here.
