    Help tracker help

After gettin a new car i realised i need to get a tracker installed. after doing a bit of research i been looking at the tracker monitor and the rac trackstar. i cant find anything about any others and these 2 are recomended by people at lexus forums and scoobynet plus the trackstar has european coverage. i would appreciate it if anyone with the know would tell me which one out of all of them is best for insurance and value for money.

the deal on the trackstar was 375 fitted which doesnt seem too bad as places i have checked are asking 499 for it !!!

any comments or opinions would be appreciated

also if anyone knows any good fitters in london as i have to travel to essex to get the one above done

From an insurance point of view the Tracker Horizon is the best one by Tracker itself. The best RAC one is the RAC trackstar.

Depending on what car you are getting you may not need the best Tracker. What car is it you have got?

Both tracker and trackstar do the job in very different ways, bit of background may help you more

Tracker uses radio wave technology so unless the vehicle was in a sealed lead box it will be picked up on the receiver, Tracker is still the only system used in conjunction with all police forces within the uk, all ports of enty/ are equiped with detection devices police air and ground vehicles are also equiped, vehicles can now be tracked in France and Spain

Trackstar uses GSM technology with live instant monitoring which is an advantage as the monitoring station can see your car real time, downside is that GSM is seriously flawed with blackspot areas and if the vehicle is in a position where it can not see sats then it becomes invisible and the monitoring station can only see the last point it was on the system

Tracker horizon is bar far the most advanced system on the market as it uses both gsm and radio, but price reflects
