Default I also want one but...

Well I have to wait till I'm 18, and like I've heard from people before, it can create a bad impression, and I dont really fancy having to cover it up in a work place.

Whats the best place to get one thats easy to show but not noticeable?

Also, I was thinking about a small one, but it would have to be effective, anyone got any gallery sites with some smaller ones?
    Im a fuckwit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like tats tbh, just not on myself.

I have never had the urge to have one due to the fact that I'm scared that one day I will get pissed off with it and try to remove it with a blunt screwdriver.

I think tats in the right places look great, especially on women.

Stuz, give it some very serious thought m8, there's peeps that love them and there's peeps that get pissed off with them.

Someone in the takeaway the other night was asking me about my eye piercing, she said she had a tat and now hated it, it take's allsorts m8.

I was very wary before getting my first one and waited 2 years until I knew it was the right time, design and artist. I got a large Paul Booth piece on the top of my right arm that could be covered by short sleeved shirts at work. The wife hated it and wouldn't speak to me for a week and the in-laws saw it as ammunition to put a wedge between us.

I never intended on looking the way I now do I just got hooked getting tattooed. I do get some very funny looks in short sleeved shirts (can't wear them for work) and on holiday I get mobbed. The attention can become annoying but is expected when you stand out like a sore thumb.

Do think long and hard before taking the plunge. At the end of the day its your body...

collar bone and it does not hurt as much as you think it would in that area infact one of the most least painful place for some people, a nice design that flows with the curve of the collar bone cant beat it easy to hide easy to view

im with tattoo'd freak on this one i waited a while after my first one (i got a design of a small star that my grandad drew before he died) a week after the funeral and it still means a lot to me as its took straight from the origional but for the others i waited till stuff like 21st, 25th 26th birthdays i know people who hate some of the ones theyve got and cant remember why they got them

its not fair but you do get judged by people because you have them they see them and think your some hard nut or a weirdo and i keep mine covered while at work as well although the majority of people there are fine with them and have some them selves if your wanting something thats easy to cover for work but you wont get sick of try doing your own like i did but do it for your calf theres not much pain if you stay away from the shin and ankle's and cos you dont see it every few hours its a nice reminder when it catches your eye and wearing trousers cover's it for work but in summer wearing shorts the women cant help but look at your legs and its a talking point before you get your leg over em lol

Im interested in what line of work you lot are in, as some of you seem concerned that employers will frown upon visible tattoo's.

I have both arms covered, one arm is from wrist to shoulder, inside and out, freehand tribal. (all black)

I have both arms half sleeved, the right one is now 3\4 full. Full backpiece and lower right leg sleeved in.

I work in Market Data Support for one of the top 3 banks in the world. I have been told more than once, cover those up or leave. Not wanting to loose my job, I have. I'd love to say f@ck you, try it... but who knows if they actually would get rid?

I got one when I was 17 and while I don't regret it I would like to get it covered up with a large poppy but cannot find any art that I like and have been looking for about a year. Anyone got any suggestions of where to look? It is at the top of my right arm and is a scorpion. Got a celtic panel on my left arm which I do like and parts of that were done with watered down ink to get a faded effect which looks alright.

Stu you should think very seriously before you get anything done.

I've been after getting a tat for ages now, but I can't seem to find/create a design that I like, I've seen a couple, but they've all been attatched to people I know, so it'd look crap if I got one as well.

I guess my pale, pastey white skin will have to stay unadorned for a while longer until I see something interesting.

I'll get one at some stage, just as yet haven't found anything I want to stick on my body for the rest of my life. I know people who have their kids names etc. and that wouldn't be so bad I s'pose but I don't have a kid that I know about and I don't really fancy the Cardiff City emblems all my mates have on their legs/arms/chest. I like a lot of the thai stuff I saw out there and considered having a phrase written in thai around my upper arm but again couldn't think of something solid that I wanted forever.

Fuck it I'll get a Tasmanian devil.

Not bad mate cheers. The issue is it needs to cover what is already there and be a bit offbeat from the average. I found a mint one on a tat website last year and I am damned if I can find the bastard again. Pain in the ass. I have some artwork but it isn't quite what I want.
