    Default Train de-rails in Liverpool

Earlier tonight i noticed police had blocked off the street next to our flat and wouldn't let any cars past and i heard a few ambulances/fire brigade but thought nothing of it until i turned the tv on and heard this. Could of been alot worse, so quite lucky really.

"A busy commuter train has been derailed in Liverpool city centre following a suspected mechanical fault.

All 119 passengers on board the underground train were safely evacuated after it came off the tracks as it travelled from Lime Street to Central Station in the rush hour.

The only casualties were two people who suffered shock, a spokesman for Merseyside Fire Service said.

Passengers were taken from the station and given alternative transport home.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said that it appeared the derailment was caused by a mechanical fault.

The low-speed derailment happened about 200 yards from Central Station.

Union officials said a temporary speed restriction of 20mph was in operation inside the tunnel.

British Transport Police said it was not a major incident."

Hasn't the BBC recently reported that the cause of the derailment was due to its wheels being thieved? :whistle

I was actually right next to Central station at the time of this incident in the Everton club shop about 5 minutes before that happened. It's one fooking dodgy rail line, my bird is shit scared of going on it
