DVD player £19.99 with card reader, plays divx

For those that missed the dvd recorder at ASDA this may be an alternative.

It is only a PLAYER, but how often would you really use a dvd recorder?

That is very cheap indeed, I have one of those (at the higher price, grrrrr) and it's a great player, never failed to play an XVid disk yet, and the card reader is a nice feature too.

How does this player cope with XVID? Anyone tried it? I need something that does DIVX and XVID really as am sick of reencoding stuff to DVD to watch in my Panasonic DMR E55. I seem to download more XVID than DIVX at the moment.

EDIT: Read the manual and it appears it does handle XVID. Need to go to LIDL now and see if they have any. And Rogers post ^___^ says the same. :whistle

Does anyone know how to get the phone numbers for the stores? I have tried the main number on the web site but the will not give out local store contact number. Just want to check that my local Lidl will have stock of the DVD player.

My mate called into a Newcastle Lidl today as he thought they were on sale now (doh!), and they told him it would be Monday and not Saturday that they go on sale? Might just have been a thick sales person though!

Went to the Maidstone store at 8:35 this morning. Only 10 left! I got 4 and the others were picked up right after me. All gone by 8:37am. Apparently the other Lidl was sold out before that.

for anyone who lives in northwest london I went to nw2 , nw9 and ha8 branches between 9 - 10am this morning and they were all sold out :-(

Definately puts Lidl on the map great sales push!!

If the store opens at 9am god knows what time you have to get there by!!!
