Windows media centre not playing dvd's

Hi

this is a strange one and i cant figure it out

i have installed windows with media centre edition and the problem i got is Windows media centre is not playing dvd movies,when i go into windows theyplay fine through windows media player fine,have downloaded loadsa different codec packs but still same problem


anyone else had this problem ?

what does media center actually do when you try to play a dvd?

When i insert the dvd movie, and press "play DVD" from media centre menu, the disk drive spins up but i get a error message on the dvd screen tat loads in bottom left corner saying error starting dvd decoder,you may need to restart media centre.

ok you will need an actual dvd decoder, by far the best is the nvidia one, you can download it from the nvidia site
