Default Ramis Plans ‘Ghostbusters 3’ with Stiller

I love the Ghostbusters franchise (and the song) and I think Ben Stiller would be cool... would love to see Bill Murrey cameo in this!!

Ramis reveals Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd has written a new script, called Ghostbusters in Hell, and Ramis is keen to get the project started.

He tells InFocus magazine he wants Stiller to join Aykroyd and Rick Moranis in the sequel.

Aykroyd's script transports the bumbling ghostbusters into a parallel dimension via a portal in a New York warehouse.

Ramis explains, "What Danny had originally conceived was sending us to a special-effects hell--a netherworld full of phenomenal visual environments and boiling pits.

"But what works so well about the first two (films) is the mundane-ness of it all. So my notion was that hell exists in the same place as our consensus reality, but it's like a film shutter--it's the darkness between the 24 frames.

"So we create a device to do it, and it's in a warehouse in Brooklyn. When we step out of the chamber, it looks just like New York, but it's hell--everything's grid locked; no cars are moving and all the drivers are swearing at each other in different foreign languages. No two people speak the same language. It's all the worst things about modern urban life, just magnified."

    Oh yes..coool

Just get Murray back in it! He's gotta be pretty old now, but he could be the experienced teacher/leader or something....

Agreed though, Murray did make Ghostbusters

I thought that was a script he wrote ages ago ith Dan Akyroyd, when Ben Stiller was quite young, and the idea was scrapped? I'm guessing I'm right cos Chris Farley was also cast in it, and he's dead now.. unless he's coming back as a ghost?

Only things I can remember him in recently and they were all poop...

But I did love GhostBusters, and all the cast. Blimey tho 21-22 years after the original the make the third!

the last decent film in that list was ed wood (johnny depp) 1994
the last decent film he made where he was the star was groundhog day in 1993, some 12 years ago

the lost city (2005) is not a comedy again and the next one he's doing is a comedy but its a rob schnieder movie called "hard r" (2006) i'll leave you to decide if you think mr schnieder's movies are funny.

Last ten years? Haven't seen Broken Flowers, Life Aquatic or Coffee and Cigarettes yet but Lost in Translation, The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and Kingpin are all good films featuring performances of varying hilarity from Murray. He is awesome in Rushmore and Ernie McCracken is one of the funniest characters ever in Kingpin.

i think we must have differing views on the word hilarity, i normaly take it to mean funny, something that he hasnt been since groundhog day

TBH I'm not much of a fan of Bill Murray.

I saw Lost In Translation and didn't like it much.

I saw Groundhog Day and didn't like that much either.

Not seen Kingpin, or Ed Wood.

IMO he was only really any good in Ghostbusters. Not saying he's a bad actor, or he's not funny, but not one of my favourite actors by a long shot.

Ghostbusters is in my top 20 films tho for sure, but I won't miss Bill Murray if he's not in the new one.
