Question Any tips for taking pics at a concert?

Ill be going to the Children In Need concert in Wrexham on Friday night and will be taking my camera so am curious as to wether there are any 'do's and don'ts' for taking decent pictures of the acts on stage?

Line ups not bad. Madness, Texas, Goldie Lookin Chain, Suagababes to name a few.

Shouldnt be too far away from the stage, its being staged on the green outside the Guildhall which isnt very big at all and there will be loads of little kids who I can just trample over to get a good spot.

Will be using a Pentax Optio 33LF, cheap and cheerful just like me

The best hing is to get to the front but this isnt always possible
If your further than 4 metres away the flash is a waste of time.

in low light levels your shutter speed will increase and more of your shots will be blur so keep still I find holing the camera at arms lenght with straight arms works best if you use the screen but using the viewfinder also helps keeping the camera still.

Use the camera in manual mode if you can so you can manually adjust the shutter speed take a few test shots to see if they are dark or blur and use the settings that make the photos clear and not to dark remember you can tweak dark photos easily but blur photos are a waste. ohh and remember as the light level drops you need to keep changing the settings
