Best Media???

Can anyone advise me on which are the best type of media for burning for the above console. Had some issues with Verbatim DVD+R but was wondering what is best. The newest thread I could find detailing this sort of stuff was early 2003 and is sadly now outdated.

Any help appreciated.

there were a few, which have been deleted I guess, probably too contraversial. I used a mixture of Go4 and datawrite disks on mine when I had it, the best all round DVD-r I use is Datawrite titanium, they always seem to work well for me.

my PS2 will pretty much read anything i throw at it but generally I tend to stick with either the Ritek G04 or Ritek G05 dye discs. Loads of different brands out there use the Ritek dye but I think the Traxdata branded ones are exceptional. As Shang said, Datawrite Titaniums are also good and recommended. Weird that you are having probs with verbs as they are generally very, very good although I have had a bad batch of verb DVD-R before though. I usually just stick with DVD-R, don't think I have ever burn't a DVD+R in my life !

I wasnt aware that + worked with PS2 ?

8x Datawrite (50 pack) work on mine fine (bought from NEOGAMES of course!)... mine only likes certain types of disks... fussy ting that it is!!

Ritek go3-go4 the best. G05 up there 2. (DVD-R btw)

They (who r they) used to say its better to burn at slower speeds for better results.

Neither was I

Got 10 Sony 4x DVD+Rw free with PC when I bought it. Never used them.

Trying one now, I`ll let you know.

yeah Ritek G04 i use, and oh course got me last lot from Neo! thou I hope G05 won't wipe G04 from the market as there so tried and tested

G04/G05 all the way. Forget all this Datawrite malarky. The few extra pence make it worth it.

G04 or G05 burned at 4x is a very safe bet.
Still don't trust 8x.

IIRC +R only work on the later models. Certainly not on the early ones.
Might be wrong but I think it started with the 50003 series.
