..but how much does it hurt? Im looking to get my 1st tattoo soon, i wanna know on what scale it hurts. I once spiked my leg on a spike while climbing over a fence, and had 5 stiches without any anesthetic or anything, will it hurt more than that? does adrenalin take over?

just a wee burning sensation mate, but really depends on what area of your body you get it mines are just on my upperarms and didnt feel much more than the wee burning sensation i mentioned i suppose if you get it on your dick it would hurt more..

When I had one it felt like someone dragging a match that had just been blown out on the skin, not painful after a few secs, a little uncomfortable, but wouldnt have said painful. Getting ones nipple pierced hurt a fuck load more!

It feels like someone is trying to dig your bones out with a rusty screwdriver.

Everyone reacts differently and it depends on where you have it done. I always find the outline uncomfortable and the shading a doddle. Don't sit there trying to be really brave if the pain gets too much, tell the tattooist you want a break.

Seriously, the outline is a bit of a bastid, the shading is a walk in the park. My most painful bit was the underside of my upper arms, I was wincing a bit there. They have always sprayed something on mine at the end, and it is "relief in a bottle" spray, it will give you something to look forward to at the end!!

got 1 on my back (bottom) dam it fcuking hurt
1 on my arm just felt like nipping (was ok)

getting your leg stuck on a spike and having stitches will hurt way more than getting ink done where ever your havin it done, yeah it can sting (as said its mainly the outlines) but its not that bad just think about something else and you'll be fine probably even get to the point that you forget about any pain and either watch the telly (i do) or watch the tattoo being done (i do that too when theres nothin on lol)
