Default Christmas a good time to buy?

Okay guys to cut a long story short, whats people opinions on getting a good deal in decemeber?

I'm after a Peugeot 307 XSI HDI 136bhp. Most decent 05's from a franchise dealer sit firmly within the £11.5k - £12.5k bracket. The trouble is that i've set myself a budget of 10k cash and the part exchange of my old car (its an old 306, not worth much). Due think i can swing it from a peugeot franchise or am I setting my goals too high?

I was thinking about spinning a yarn and just saying i've begged & borrowed to get 10k and thats my limit, take it or leave it.

It's good to buy a car in december and it doesn't change much in January it's just as quiet.

Most Marque dealerships are up for a deal and have been all year as it's been slow as shit!
