    Newbie over clocking amd64 3000+

    hi
my pc seems to be running pretty slow at certain things, i bought some more memory , so i got 1.5gb now as i thought it might speed it up.
i was wondering how easy or how hard is it to get the chip running faster? or is it not worth it.
i`m extremely newbie on this so if its too complicated i`ll forget it but was wondering. oh the m/b is asus k8v se deluxe
    thanks
    Oh f@ck it!

think it might be a better idea for u to read up a bit on different settings and what they do,,,,,,,or maybe just give it a miss m8,cause it gets a bit more difficult.....

if u got 1.5gig of memory im asumin u got 2 sticks in there. i dont think they make a 768mb stick.

ur memory isnt paired right. this in many cases causes the pc 2 slow down.

2 things u shud chek on the memory:

both memory sticks shud hav the same amount of ram (512mb etc)
the speeds shud also b the same e.g ddr400 pc3200

ur best option wud be to reset bios, asus boards are pretty gud, and can set up ram and cpu by spd.

just pull out mainboard battery for about 3mins then load default in the bios screen
