    Info Save on Petrol?

I've done a search for this and couldn't find anything but apologies if this is in the wrong place..............

    www.pipeline.org

The principle of the scheme seems sound enough although reading through some of the press statements there appears to be a lot of both postive and negative thoughts on how this will actually work, if at all!!!

I've registered anyway. Nothing ventured nothing gained and all that...........

Had a quick look at the site and I have a question....
How does it have anything to do with cars??

    http://www.pipelinecard.org/default.html Wrong link??

Looks good and as you say nothing ventured nothing gained and as you are only registering your interest the worst i can see happening is that the scheme doesnt get off the ground and you dont save any money or that you may get some spam but who cares really, I get loads anyway.

Just signed up. Looks a good idea if it kicks off.

What I can't understand is if they will be buying off one major retailer then how would the company be decided? Surely it would increase the share price of that company if they are selling most of petrol in the UK?

Hmm, all I need now is the name of the company and a few thousand pounds to buy shares with.

I would have thought it would be decided like any other bulk buy, cheapest wins!

@Bitchmonkey: I read on the site they had chosen the company just couldn't release details until there were enough subscribers.

Signed up to Pipeline a while ago, Cant see it getting off the ground, if they manage to buy cheaper petrol, how do they distribute it across the UK etc ?

Would be interesting to see how it works..

    Info Re: Save on Petrol?

Forgive me if this has been posted before (I've searched and can't find anything, so please be gentle with me if I've missed it! ) but you might recall that the AA had a petrol pricing monitor site that was closed several months ago? It allowed you to type in a postcode and then told you the cheapest petrol prices within x miles?

Well, I've just come across a similar site at petrolprices.com. You have to register but that is free and, at least so far, it doesn't seem to generate unwanted emails or anything - and it certainly got the prices right near me today.

    Well done everybody!

It will still be April or May before we can send cards out, but these figures
will help to give us the negotiating power that we need to get a good discount
    for everyone.

    Best wishes
