If anyone is interested I have just downgraded my Psp 1006 v2.0 using the downloader at the link below.

The download even includes a video walkthrough and also automatically installs the tif and bin files in the right places. This has got to be the easiest ever.

    The post that i edited..

Yeah i've done this. Basically all it does is fool the psp that its actually got v1 firmware so you can go launch the 1.5 update from your mem stick.

Mine got tp 99%, said updated failed, I rebooted and it said there were some corrupt settings press "O" to restore and it restores back to 1.5.

    Cool - wasn't sure - first time i've downgraded.

I looked at the video provided by Salvadali, the way i did it sems a lot more straight forward.

Can I just warn people that when you downgrade you get a trojan warning from Norton AV. Further investigations on the net may tell you that this trojan will brick you PSP. However, this is a red herring. I think the bottom line is you should always use TRUSTED sources for your downgrade files and you should be ok.

See the full downgrade thread for more info...
