hi,

want to do a milage correction for my renault clio 1.2 y reg what will i need what tools serched google to but not much info.

or is it a better idea to leave it to pro.

any help would be appriated guys.

if you go wrong with it you are going to be into big money,
leave it to someone who no's what there doing.

You need a function generator, a 12v power suppply and 7 days of waiting for the mileage to wind upto 1000000 miles to do this car.

Or someone (like me!) with the NEC software to do your car in 30 mins for a small fee!

i have been told this proggramer will do it nec prog upd78 quite good with chips and eeproms been in the cable scene for many years so soldering is not a problem and proggraming and correcting checksum dont look to hard as this proggramer does it for me.

anyone know where i can get a cheap one from.

update:

a guy from dashfixer come to my house today to correct the milage took everything out when he had a look at make and model he said this will take him 3days to correct it.

or it will take him 3hours to do it so he put evrything back in and said he will get me a new speedo from scrappys.
i told him can you not solder the 14 wires he said yeah you can do it that way but he does not want to fuck the speedo up as he is no good at soldering.

is it really that hard to correct mailge on my clio 1.2 grande y reg???

There were NEC programmers on Ebay, these were clones of the ETL one which will do exactly what you want.

Or failing that I may be able to sort one for you if you want to have a go yourself.
