    Help help needed on astra 2000 clutch

    i have a astra 1.7 dti on a 2000 x plate and am haveing trouble with the clucth. now i understand it is a hydraulic clutch and what is happening is stood at a standstill clutch to the floor in first gear after about 5 secs the clutch is starting to bite and moving the car with the clutch pedal still to the floor and i have to turn engine off as i cant get it back out of gear. sound like the hydraulic clutch has a leak or summat like that. has any 1 experianced this and what was the cause any help would be most greatful cheers morphias......

    Sounds like you could have a weepy master or slave cylinder,if you fluid is going down take it to your favorite mechanic unless you are a diy bod .good luck..I suppose you can get repair kits for these don't know toy much about astras.

    Check for leaks under the car and check your brake fluid.

    Sounds like a Slave Cylinder on the clutch ( around £30/£40 )

    Exactly same happened to me on the punto, Had to turn off to get in reverse, check the slave out it has burst.

    hi sorted the problem it was battery acid that had droped down onto the hydraulic clutch pipe and burnt a hole in it thats were i was losing the pressure from all fixed now cost a £5 thank god didnt need a big bill just before xmas thanks any way cheers morphias....
