I wouldn't go for a usb phone to be honest.. you can get some proper SIP phones that just plug into the network. They cost about £40 from http://www.digidave.co.uk or search about and you might find one cheaper..
Then if you get an account with http://www.sipdiscount.com costs 5 Euros and gives free calls to UK USA AU, most of europe and a few other contries
It works a treat as i have been using it for a few months
