    Info wireless router sharing files

    just set up a linksys broadband router with speedbooster- model number wrt54gs to my little lads pc so he can have internet on in his room, my problem is im trying to network it so he can use my printer and share some of my files also, but having no luck.Tried going thru xp and it says it is set up via My Network places but the files on my other pc are different to the ones on mine and have tried a few times but had no luck,,,, can anyone help me???

    What you will be seein on the network by default is the "Shared Documents" folder - you can add shared folders by dragging/dropping them onto this folder. The easiest way to do it from his PC is to "map" the network drive. Go into my computer, and i think it's tools/map network drive (from memory).

    thanks for help m8 karma left for you....

    I have done as you said but i am still unable to view the shared files from one pc to another tried to map from 1 to other but wont work m8,maybe somthing simple but im struggling to sort it out

    have set up new drive in my computer but cant view them from either pc via the network

    any more info would help m8

    also make sure any software firewalls you have running (eg zonealarm) are set to allow each machine to see the other via the trusted zone.

    right click on the shared documents folder , click properties then go to sharing tab , if - share this folder on the network - is ticked then untick , ok it then go and re-select it , has worked for a few on here
