Default Alarm & Central Locking Problem

Right, as in another post i have a rover 114 (metro shape) and my battery recently died and would not hold a charge so i replaced it with a new one, however since i replaced it i have had problems.

The problem i am having is when i remote lock the car with my fob, the doors unlock within 5 seconds of doing so and then the alarm sounds.
On occaision i get the doors to stay locked but then from anytime after that they unlock themselves and the alarm sounds, so i was wondering if there is something i can do to fix it, as i dont wanna leave my car somewhere then it unlocks itself for someone to nick my MD player lol
It only happened after i swapped the battery, and its fine when i lock it with the key, but then locking it with the key does not activate my alarm.

    Please Help Me.

you will prob find that it is the switch in the drivers door or the boot on the alarm that is playing up.Thats why it stays locked off the key. the only other thing i can think of is that the main mech in the drivers door for the central locking is sticky, if this happens then it tells the other locks to fail safe. take off the door card and spray the motor with some wd40 and try that, let me know how u get on.
