you need to check how many hours the current bulb has done If its over 1000 leave it alone (unless the asking price is very good)

Its a 2000 lumen projector so is very good, mines 1600 and i run it in 1100 lumen whisper mode to preserve the bulb. 1100 is fine in a darkish room all day long.

I think the machine has the same connector as mine, called an M1 connector. You will need a component lead for the xbox 360 and a component to M1 adaptor for the projector (£19 + vat)

The 530 is not a current model and was replaced by the 540 in 2004.

the component to m1 adaptor doesnt come with the projector unless he's bought it after the original purchase.

The 360 component leads you will need to buy come with red and white stereo phono plugs for your amp.

The standard ms component cable has 3 component leads(Red Green Blue), 2 audio leads (Left/White and Right/Red) and 1 for composite video (Yellow - for premium pack buyers that had standard TV's)

    manual here

If he has the optional connectivity module, there will be component connections already on the rear panel. unlikely tho.

got this today, must say im impressed im playin gotham now on about a 6ft x 6ft screen one thing is though it is a bit grey rather than black in places, im hoping the hd leads or vga leads will solve this?? im just using it on a white roller blind as i never got a proper screen yet, will this make the colours more faded??

A real projector screen has specific reflective properties, where as a roller blind will absorb light, there’s a huge difference when you get the right gear.

sorry to bring this post back up people but im stuck???? i just got the hd leads ( joytech) but when i connect it all up i just get a very dark screen. the projector is set to auto so should be straight forward. when i swith to sd the 360 boots normally and lets me set the hd up but when i switch the leads back to hd i get 2 360 dashboards squeezed on the same screen and its v dark?? has anyone had a similar problem, all i can think is the projector is nackered?? any help much appreciated as its doing my f**kin head in big time.

ive tryed loads of combinations but i should only be connecting the component red green and blue leads right??

Yep, Red, Green & Blue is correct.

I've just read through the .PDF supplied by Malty and you have a VGA input aswell on the extra module.

I'd be trying the VGA cable next if its not happy with the component cable.

I use the HD VGA cable on my 360 with a Panasonic plasma and the picture is utterly superb at 720p.

Sorry, can't be of much more help at this stage.

try the composite (yellow) wire into the projector input with the cable in normal non hd mode, just to see if the proj is ok, it may just be a setting wrong

silly question but you do have the switch on the cable to 'hdtv' when using the rgb cables ?

yeh tryed it mate the projector is fine, i looked on the website faq and it dont say much, ive emailed their customer support hopefully they will help. there is one bit saying to play hd through component you need the m1 adaptor, but the extra module on the back runs through the same socket thus being the same thing id of thought?

right i just found this on the site:
    http://www.infocus.com/service/lp530...&site_region=3&

now the bottom left box in the grid says:

    720p, 1035i, 1080i 50/60Hz (HDTV)
    Enhanced Connectivity Module only

    then it says

VGA cable with Enhanced Connectivity Module only

the enhanced connectivity module is what im using so i take it i need vga leads?? further up the table it says the component will only do 480i, 576i , i think? please could someone clarify this as im shit at all this stuff, cheers

The VGA will allow you to get 720p & 1080i, which is what the 360 outputs in HD. The projector seems to output 576i with the component cable, which may have something to do with the strange image you are getting when you switch over to HD with your current setup.

Like I said in my previous post, I think it would be best to try the VGA cable, but that is more expense to test that theory.
