ATI Radeon 9800 XT graphix card.

Im having problems with my gfx card while im playing in game it crashes once ive been playing for a couple of minutes.

Ive tried updating the drivers but im having no luck, Ive just noticed in settings that it says its a 9600 xt but its not its a 9800 XT.

So i unistalled drivers and reinstalled new ones but its still showing up as a 9600 ive searched hardware forums but cant any answers can anyone help me out.

what temp's are your card running @,,,,are u using oficial ati driver's or 3rd party ones

Ive tried both, ones that came on the cd with the card on the ati website and omega drivers. How would i find out what temp my card is running?

use a proggy called ati tool's

ive already got that but theres no option so i can get the temp.

if you have the latest ati drivers you should also have the CCC

catalyst control center

whichhhh on gpu overdrive or whatever its called shows the temp

Thanks for all the help but ive decided to format that maybe the source of my problems i have so may errors on my pc.

Right after i have formatted installed new ati drivers its still showing up as a 9600 maybe its broke, Is there anyway of testing it?

Ive had this card about 1 year now and it was a 9800 XT When i got it, i have the box for it still.

You havn't flashed it with a dodgy BIOS have u?....or have u got a brother or family member that may have swapped it while you were out

I would say its worse to be honest m8 as the 6600 GT's are only marginally better that the 9800xt until u reach high resolutions and AA enabled the the 9800xt shines through against the 6600 GT.
