how does this connect to every system in the house. I'm guessing you're going to have to have a wireless adaptor you need to plug into EVERY system in the house so it can connect to them when you walk in the room???? Does it come with about 10 wireless dongles? I see it has a receiver which i guess is attached to the pc?
Either that or you're gonna have to plug the controller into it when you walk into the room which kinda defeats the wireless aspect of it?

I've got one of these...
It's not a bad piece of kit! Basically, you need to already have a wireless router or adapter on your PC. You install some Creative Music Server software and add your MP3s to the library.

You can play individual songs at a time, or create playlists. The software on the PC side of things gives you the option to create "Smart Playlists", which basically runs a simple query of all songs by the artist or all songs from 1995 or whatever. Then you can play through these playlists in random or continuous mode.

The unit itsself connects to your hifi or a set of powered speakers through either standard Red & White Audio Jack Plugs, 3.5mm Stereo Jack, or through an optical digital output (if i remember correctly!). The unit can then be hidden from view if needed because the remote works on a radio frequency to the unit itself and doesn't have a bad range on it! The screen on the remote lets you view and alter tracks and playlists.

You can also control each unit from the PC itself changing songs playing etc.

The unit itself doesn't actually connect to every device in the home or follow you round the house as far as i know. You would need one of these units connected to each HiFi or set of powered speakers in each room of the house. You can have a maximum of 4 or 5 on your wireless network!
I originally bought it for my parents for the conservatory so that it could be hidden away, but now i'm thinking of getting one for my room and the system in the living room.

Aah, make a little morse sense now. Would be better if it just had a dongle and came with a few so you could link it to more than one without having to buy extra receivers

To Be honest they pretty small and compact and you can just hide the receiver behind ur stereo or whatever! We're keeping ours in a cupboard out the way with some wires going to some powered speakers!
To be honest for £50 its a bargain, they usually £130 at least!

Went into 2 different stores today:

Wigan- Doesn't stock them- Maybe because it has just changed from Office World.
Southport- Still priced at £99.99- Asked if they are reduced........ No.

D-Link do a full wireless media showcentre, plays all kinds of formats from MP3 to JPEG and AVI MPEG XVID DIVX etc! There are two models out, one with a dvd player built in and one without! I think the model is the DM320, with some variation on the letters after between the DVD and non DVD Version!

Loughborough had nothing, excpet ones for 50 off leaving it at 99.99 but the monkeys working there know less that a gnat about things.
