anyone got any tips on cone challenges on pgr3??

hi

done all the easy and medium challenges and i'm now doing th hards, i can do the races but the cone challenges i'm getting nowhere near if i hammer it and don't hit a cone i'm still miles off the k score needed

any tips to boost my crappy scores???

get its side ways around corners and try 2 combo your score for the whole race, i did gold but i would even bother with hardcore stages as tehy are stupid amounts o kudos needed

Yes you need to be sliding whenever you can between the cones to get combo's, to get the gold you also need to chain the combos together usually for around half of the track. For platinum, you need to chain the combos all the way around the course (Usually anyway!).

its hard enough selecting the right car ! Ariel Atom is good for the control but you need something a lot quicker

i thought it might be a case of having to slide it round everywhere but i just get a nice load of kudos in the orange writing right down the side and then i hit a cone or the wall or both

ah well if it was easy i'd be on here complaining then

they are so hard.. i tend to use the F1 Maclaren and snake it between cones, but i cant keep it up all the way round, i always crash and lose all my Kudos

You get more time than you think to complete a lap, if I find myself with a whopping amount of Kudos after a good sequence, I just slow the car down and let them register into my score before continuing.

I thought they were pretty easy tbh? Just get a car that slides a fair bit (F50 GT) and go pretty slow. You will get points for going through, and if you can drive, just give it a bit of overbraking for the corners and you will get more points that way.
I spent far to long trying to go round fast as possible, when I realised you could just go round at a fair speed and easily complete the gold/platinimum.

its mostly practice tbh plus a slidey car. Used the F40 for a good while, moved to the f50 gt then back to the enzo, seemed more controllable in the drift.

I suggest you use the Merc SLR as its not as wide as some of the others and is not as twitchy as most. I have finished the game on gold and used this car for the majority of challenges.

Mate you have only done them up to silver which is easy! try doing them on gold and platinum then you get hard to impossible!

combinations are good on top of them u can handbrake slide between cones strategicaly placed on either side of a wide track. ultima gt is good ariel seems ok

I have done most on gold and some on platinum.

Exactly, it really is not tough if you take it easy.

im completing it on gold at the moment and am not finding that easy at all, the tactic harryb says gets you through cones quite easy but the hot lap im finding to be difficult! Takin me around 5-10 attempts to finish these on gold

im working thru gold now, the cones im doing ok but struggle on the hot laps too.

Thing to remember on the hot laps is that the time will adjust depending on what car you pick. So you pick a slow car, you get more time etc etc

So the best tactic is to pick a nice easy car, like the lambo murcialago and give it a go. I do most of the time ones with the lambo because it just grips and grips... Dead easy!!!

just finished on gold! Took some time, did most of it in the merc slr apart from time vs kudos races where i used the f50 gt . I am at rank 2 at the moment. Does anyone know how i get to rank 1? Is it just win a few badges on platinum?

The ranks are just Kudos based, just get more Kudos and you'll get to rank 1.
