Things To Do And See In .......barcelona ?

Taking the missus to Barcelona this weekend (its her birthday)
anyone offer any advice, places to see, restaurant etc..
and places avoid etc?

Will be there fri/sat/sun back monday eve.

We'll be in the "Eixample" neighbourhood if that helps

First thing is avoid the fake 'Police' who will challenge you to show you have no drugs etc on you, and empty your pockets/wallet/handbag at the same time. I was listening to someone on the radio this week who went to a wedding in Barcelona in a huge crowd, out of 150 people who went, 28 were victims of a crime. So take great care, if a 'Policeman' asks to see your passport or to check your money for counterfeit notes, just say its all at the hotel. Along with your credit cards.
Mind you the genuine Police can be a lot of trouble too.

restaurants- check out madrid-barcelona and los caricoles. Both are awesome and pretty reasonable (not cheap but worth it).

Nou camp is good, theres a cable car which goes over barcelona too which offers some good views. Watch your bags etc like a hawk though and try to avoid the chinese area off las ramblas, it seemed bloody moody to me.

I'd recomend going to see Gaudi's work depending if your into architecture.
It is fantastic though, especially the detail of the church.

Stay away from the Zoo's Cafe as its right next to the buffalo’s in the park and lets just say its chicken was crawling when I was there
