Default Dodgy phone call i just received..a scam?

I just got a call from this number 0161 874 2990 and i answered it.

Some guy on the other end saying he was from T-Mobile and asked if i was on pay as you go or a contract, i told him pay as you go, and then he asked how much on average i spend per week, and i just said not very much, and then he asked again how much roughly and when i said only a couple of quid he just said ok thanks sorry to bother you, goodbye!

Thought this was odd so i searched the number on google and got this page

    http://www.livejournal.com/users/spodlife/100056.html

Some people seem to think it's a scam of some sort but i dunno

I also found their number on this page

    http://www.quayconnect.com/quay_conn...ssed_call.aspx

Has anyone else had a call from them? how would they get my number?

edit: looks like it's just some phone marketing bullshit

Sounds like speculative phone cold calling and probably got your number from some marketing firm somewhere. I wouldn't worry about it, but don't disclose any personal info to these sort of calls. If you want, go to the tps website and let them know you don't want no more of this sort of call.

For random call generation systems it's worth reading this as well:

    'hello'

    'hi we're from...'

'i'll stop you there. I am not interested. Please remove me from your list'

    'ok sir, buy now'

    Sorted.

always ask to be removed as it's their legal obligation to. Otherwise they'll phone again, and again, and ariston.
    I'm new to this
