    Default PC SPEC

I am thinking about building a PC, just wondering if any one has any recommendations or comments on this:

The CPU - Intel Pentium D 950 Dual Core 3.4ghz (But is this realy worth the extra money as oppossed to the D840 3.2Ghz as this is 80.00 cheaper or maybe you can recommend a better buy.

The Motherboard - ABIT AL8 3RD EYE II.

The Graphics - Power Colour ATI Radeon x800gt.

    The Monitor - 19 ViewSonic VA1912W

Recommendations for a Silent CPU, PSU Fan and would you use a HDD & RAM Cooler.

Any other general comments about any other component.

    General Spec:

    Thermaltake Soprano VB1000SNS case
    Pentium D Proccessor
    2GB RAM
    2 X 300GB SATA300 HDD
    Pioneer DVR-110D
    Sony 16x DVD ROM
    256MB Graphics
    19 Monitor
    400w PSU
    Logitech Rechargeable Cordless Optical Mouse
    Logitech Cordless Keyboard

    Cheers

What do you intend using it for? Your intended use can massively dictate what the best choices are for you. Do you want to overclock or leave things stock? If you let me know II should be able to recommend something good.

Dont want to overclock, I usually use pc for general office use, internet, occassionally games (not really high spec games), encoding, use photoshop, Nero.

    hi there

looks a decent spec to me however i would look to spend an extra 20 quid on the case and get the thermaltake tsunami i just got one and the full aluminium front door is miles better than the palstic lookalike on the soprano

Swap out the writer for a 110 and not a 110D. At least you have the option of writing DVD-RAM that way. You never know.
