thanks mate, how do you make your xbox ip static? the pc im using ip is static as its needed for bit torrent, can 2 things be static at the same time, also on my DMZ setting i can put in the xbox ip but it also asks for a public ip, do i leave that at 0.00.0...,sorry for my noob questions

ok ive sorted most of it out given my xbox a static ip, put it in the DMZ, opened the required ports and activated Upnp and it still says moderate on NAT, by the way i have a belkin F5D7630-4A router

what else is there i can do?

Have you thought about giving Belkin a ring they are quite good with support and im sure they will talk you through it ..Then you could post how to sot it out here for others.

have finally sorted the problem, basically instead of setting a static ip i let the xbox do it automatically i then turned off the DMZ and port forwarding for it and put on Upnp and turned off the router firewall, now all is good and NAT comes up as open, hope this helps someone

bdw with the firewall being turned off, is it safe?

The firewall is there to protect you mate. You've removed the protection. What you did 'should' have resolved your "Moderate". I'd follow gamebusters advice and call Belkin, but I'd say keep your firewall on mate. (my 2p, good luck with it)

yea mate i tired phoning them, came up operators are busy please call back again after listening through like 5 automated options , but anyway ive just put the firewall back on and tired a live test and the nat is still on open so turned out just needed upnp to be turned on, bdw also after turining on the setting i turned my router off for 5 mins, dunno if that helped
