Help Probably been asked a million times b4

Like the title says, this has probably been asked a zillion times before but I'm at work and can't spend ages trawling through search results so here goes.

Ill keep it simple...I'm after sat nav coz I have no sense of direction at all. I'm after a tom tom because from what I gather they wipe the floor with everything else. I don't do an awful lot of long distance travelling but this is mostly due to my inate ability to get lost.

so...which tom tom should I go for and where is the cheapest place to get it?

I don't fancy buying a phone and using that so I'm assuming the alternatives are to buy a PDQesque device and install the software or buy the actual Tom Tom units.

btw...budget is up to £300 but I really would rather not spend that much if I can help it.

    Any help is much appreciated

I bought the Mita Mio 168, great piece of kit, Tom Tom 5 runs like a dream on it. Cost less than £200 m8 with a spare seperate gps receiver as well.

Ive had a Mitac 168 and so have 3 of my mates, the problem with them is their battery lasts about a year and then you have to send it in to be replaced as its internal (this has happened to all ours Mios). Also my charger connection has broken so it wouldnt charge and so has my mates. They are not very sturdy units. I wouldnt reccomend a Mio personally I think they are cheaply made. Also if the battery goes flat and you dont charge it within a few days you lose all your data on the unit. So you constantly need to back up to date data to card.
Get yourself a Tomtom One, they seem a lot more robust and are good just for Navigation.
