    It fucks me off when all you hear on the TV, radio, internet and papers is how companies have done this and that to make the customers live easier.

    So why the fuck is it so hard to deal with these fuckers, you try to call them and get an answer phone messages, press 1 for this and 2 for that, when you select a number you get another set of numbers to select.

    9/10 times the department you go through to is the wrong dept, and you get a load of bullshit that they can't transfer you, can you call back and select numbers 4, 6, 4 ,6 and 9 on the answer phone selection system, bollocks to them.

    When you do get the right department, either your records have not been updated or the computer system has crashed, it all bullshit.

    I suggest we scrap computers in the workplace and revert back to paperfile and people answering the telephone.

    Use computers only for that they were intended for and that is to play games and download porn.

    What you are off about here, with the choice of numbers, is known as an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) or Auto-Attendant. Each are features of a standard (plus extra bits normally) PABX system, however, bigger companies may use computers to govern the messages.

    So, instead of "kill all computers", your hatred slogan should be "die phone system die"...by the way, I much prefer the second slogan as I install PABX`s for a living and would rather not

    Maybe crilly you should get a job that doesnt involve using the phone and working saturdays.

    I dont do many phone system installs now but when I did and people ask me about auto attendant I always advise against them as people get pissed off with them especially in smaller companies as most of the time they get the same person or group for pretty much every option. It makes the company feel bigger and sound bigger when you have lots of departments/options. Everyone prefers to speak to a human receptionist to direct calls. or use DDI's

    If the attendants are short and sweet then ok, but I can agree with getting fed up with long options. For example, call ***, or report a fault to BT and see how long it takes!

    I hate it when you get through to someone and explain your querie/problem only to be transfered to another person where you have to explain it all again. This goes on like 4 or 5 times until you eventually get to explain it all (again) to someone who can actually help. Why the f*ck can't the person you've just talked to explain it to the person they're transferring you to?
