Default Stop fooling yourself, you're not down with the kids...unless

IE - Lame Spyware magnet, but not as lame as
AOL - give your PC to someone who deserves it.
Firefox - You think you're alternative? bah, you're close but also so far away
Nescape - Welcome to 1999 home of slow startup speeds, annoying netscape stuff and a shit interface

    Leaves me to,

Opera. Free (now ad-free too), small installation footprint and more little bonus features than you can shake a stick at. Plus it's interface is tiny but powerful and fully customisable.

    Try it now! (8.51)

Been a while since I have been to the Opera site but was waiting for a look at the english version of Opera Mini which is now available here. I have stuck it on my 6230i and can view DF sweet as a nut.

Get your asses over there and never miss a thing. Fantastic.

    Cheers Shangrula!!

Tried it, but it seemed to run as slow as shite on my PC. Although this could be due to many different factors, so I can't blame the browser.

Also had all sorts of problems importing my favourites, but again could well be me being crap, as opposed to Opera itself.

    Looked pretty though.

So I'll be sticking with Firefox for the time being. Until my next reinstall at least anyway.....

it'll cain the pc if you always leave it open, but to rectify you can always set a cache limit (I belive it's a building memory cache that cains the PC and it just eats memory up).

with regards to favourites you need to import as Netscape when importing from Firefox. Then it puts them all in a folder called 'Netscape Favourites' or something, just select all and bdrag back one level, then it's as good as FF.

Might sound like a mish but it's worth it, Opera is the future

I currently use opera, a problem I find though is that it doesn't appear to have great compatibility with plugins, I'll quite often have to load a website up in IE to get a video or game to work. Clicking the install plugin link seems to just take you to the opera help page where the plugin you want doesn't exsist. Probably just me though.

if ur using that hacked/modded/slipstreamed version of windows, thats to blame. was the same for me till i formatted, its a known issue, cos they remove all of that junk in that distribution of windows.

everything works fine now.. well.. it was really only wmp support that was missing.

Cheers for that link Shangrula/Bertroot, just installed it on my xdaII and it's cool (Even though it said my pda was an HP ipaq and probably wouldn't work!).

I'm not, but I think I could probably do with a reinstall, however considering the effort I think I'll just put up with it.

EDIT: oh, when you type 'G' into the title bar to do a google search, any way to make it co.uk?

i forgot my two fav. features:

    1) in the event of a crash Opera will ask if you want to continue from last time, start at ur homepage or start with no pages...class

    2) password wand and info management. The password wand stores passwords better than any other browser. Single accounts auto login and multiple ones bring up a selector with a double both button click. Also the info manager stores selected words, lines or whatever and are intergrated into auto complete and a right click context menu.

    excellent

i couldnt live without "hold right button, click left" to go back a page (or opposite to go forward). i find myself trying to do it on IE and firefox at uni and it doesnt work, such a simple feature reduces the amount you need to move yer mouse drastically.

one of the best uses is when you get new posts and then click on the ones you want with the middle button, opens them in new tabs then you just cycle through them, makes browsing df much quicker.
