    Default Advice about London

    Hi,
just looking for some info and advice.

I'm moving to London and I'm trying to work out commuting costs and the cheapest way of buying tickets. Does anyone have any idea about the cheapest way to get from Woolwich to Holborn on a daily basis or a rough estimate as to how much it would cost monthly.

    Cheers

cheers, I had a look at that but I'm finding it difficult to work out roughly how much it will cost me a month.

Youve got 2 choices mate........ You can either get a monthly bus pass which will set you back about £45 or you can get a travelcard which includes all trains, tubes and busses. Depending on what zones you want it for i think they start from about £90......... These figures were correct at about September as i bought a car then and no longer need public transport!!

There is a new discount scheme recently introduced for London commuters, that may be of interest to you.

it depends where in woolwich you are, there's two over-ground stations woolwich arsenal and woolwich docks

woolwich arsenal is in zone 4, woolwich docks is in zone 3, holborn is zone 1

so you'll need either a zone 1-4 monthly travel card or zone 1-3

    prices are weekly, monthly, yearly

    Zone 1 - 3 £26.00 £99.90 £1040
    Zone 1 - 4 £31.60 £121.40 £1264

Oyster cards are better, although I don't know how much discount you get

You can use a travel card on any tube, overground train, dlr, or buses in the zone it's paid for
