    Default Xbox wont power on

Was using the Xbox 1 earlier on, no problems. Later I went to power it on and nothing happens. If I press the eject button, nothing happens.

I checked the PSU inside the Xbox and I dont see any burn marks, no burn marks on the motherboard, or any smells coming from the XBox.

Apart from buying a new one. Any advice.

My Xbox is a V1.0 with a Foxlink PSU.

Could it be a resistor problem.

i would try and get hold of the same psu and try that, other than the obvious checking its plugged in, the fuse etc it sounds like the psu

I tried two different power cables. Ive been checking up about this PSU issue and Ive noticed the back bit where you insert the cable into seems a bit slack, Im gonna resolder it and see what happens. If thats no joy then I may bid for one on Ebay.

    Got a multimeter ??

pull the atx plug from the MB & check the power output of your psu..... be careful though as you don't want to go prodding around on the psu board itself unless you know what ure doing

No mate, dont have a multimeter. I hope it is the PSU. I bid for a V1.0 version PSU on EBay. So hope that sorts it out.

I got a new Samsung HDTV LCD, connected it to Xbox 1 on Monday, by Tuesday the Xbox is buggered. Shit happens eh!.

Yup foxlink ones are failing quite alot, normally power supply if it don't turn on, if you take it out and look at the three big transistors in a row near the back of the board the middle one is normally loose. give them a gentle wiggle from side to side.

I've had the Xbox for just over 3 years. Hopefully I can get a new PSU soon.

the power supply socket sometimes becomes loose and when it moves up and down the connectors break off at the joint of the metal strips use some solder to join them again if they have broken, this happened to an xbox i worked on once

    Quote from xbox scene
"On the power supply there are two solder points that xbox users say are weak and that can break. Most commonly nothing happens, but sometimes the broken solder points causes the Xbox not to boot, to short and in some rare cases catch fire"
