I am assured that they are real people and this is not scripted but it's hard to believe.... one of the best things on telly for a long long time...

Week One
Documentary of the week The Armstrongs 10pm BBC2

Five minutes into this new docu - soap about a conservatory firm, I had to stop writing down priceless quotes - there were just too many. They come tumbling from the moths of John and Ann Armstrong, the husband and wife team who are it's stars.

The idea is a kind of all to real life version of The Office set in Coventry. Ann is the more talkative of the two, a mixture os starry eyed optimist and petty disciplinarian. John mostly swears alot and criticises Ann's schemes for improving the company - such as hiring a Zimbabwean motivational guru called Basil.

It's well edited, brilliantly filmed and shamefully entertaining. And there are another seven episodes to come.

I'm sure that same company was featured a couple of years ago on some documentary program, it followed them setting up a Christmas party for their staff? It was class, but I've missed this series so far.. have to go searching in all the relevant places I think... see if I can catch up with it.
