    Default Drunk & Dangerous

Did anyone watch Drunk & Dangerous just now on BBC1?
It was about the new 24 hour drinking law and how things have improved in some places but made things worse in others.
Jeeeeesus there were some kin nut jobs on there that were well hammered, some had super human powers they were so drunk and feeling well ard lol
Has the newish law made things better or worse in your area?

better to be honest, more places are open later now- means I don't have to go to some shite club or the casino when out with my mates to continue drinking, just find a nice bar and then stagger home.

To be honest cardiff is a bit fucking rough on a fri/sat night anyway, coventry isn't too good either, 24 hour drinking or not.

Go out in northampton alot and i havent seen anything like the stuff they showed. Its only the same few cocks spoiling it for the rest anyway.

So its about the same, no more police about and most place stagger closing time but they have been doing that for ages anyway...

According to the local paper it's got better here (Liverpool) better as in

"Assaults, disorder and vandalism decreased by at least 8.8% after the new licensing laws came into force on November 24 last year.

A force-wide analysis found crimes in a category called "other wounding" also decreased considerably (-13.7%), as did common assault (-11.1%) and robbery (-7.1%)."

Only difference i've noticed is that the pubs etc seem to let people out about an hour later? used to get loads of noise round about 2am, now i hear it at 3am ish.

Here the shouting pissheads leave the pub just after 11pm just as they always have done.

It's been nice for us though being able to decide at 10:30 that we want to go for a drink and then not feeling rushed when we get there.

it does mean that the times between 4am and 7am where you could walk home in perfect peace will dissapear

I watched this program and it was just the same as any other 'cops on the beat in xyz' on M&M so i'd say the situation is the same, but hopefully it'll get better.
    I'm new to this

better to be honest, the pubs only open bought an hour later during the week and a bit later on the weekend but everyone seems to leave at different times. meaning you don't have to wait 30mins to get a burger or kebab from chippy and there is less of a build up of people and less likely your going to get any kick off's yeh there will always be some screff who thinks he's johny big balls with half a pint of carling and a whiff of the bar mat but with all the cctv thats around my local town the community support officers will be there in minutes followed up by the police.

I think its working really well, plus like Mule said if you get back from work late and want to meet up with your mates who are already out on the lash you don't feel as rushed to catch up coz you have at least an extra hour more than normal.

Im glad of the new hours in my area for the same reasons as mentioned by someone else, i dont have to go into a shite club to carry on drinking. I dont think violence has increased (atleast i didnt notice before i left). the dickheads who fight will fight anyway, maybe theres more likely to be a bouncer about now to sort out any trouble too.
