N70 Latest Firmware?

It can be downloaded online if you know where to look (links go down regularly as nokia are pretty much on the ball at that sort of thing, but they can be had.

do you have the necessary hardware to flash your handset if you get the files though?

You can just walk into nokia serivce centres and get them to look at your phone - BUT - not all of them have the facilities to flash handsets - lots of centres have to send them off to a bigger centre - check on the nokia website for details of the closest ones to you and give them a call. Firmware upgrades are usually free if the handset is under warranty (which N70 almost certainly is)

If you're N70 is on Tmobile then at present your stuffed - they have an oldish firmware version with lots of known bugs, but they are currently refusing to update the firmware. Only way to get a T-mobile branded phone upgraded is to unbrand it and there ain't many service centres will do that because they will get their service centre status revoked by nokia if they get caught.

I think he actually means can he flash it online like Sony Ericsson handsets.

As above, the actual flash files can be found online, however these handsets cannot be flashed online and need the appropriate service box.

just got an N70 - and although its pretty good - I am sure I will be finding a local service centre... as I have read about far too many bugs already.

Its a pity they arent able to roll out a firmware upgrade - you do yourself - like with the SPV's.

Yeah m8 you can use a client like Da Vinnci (sp) which is supposed to be quite easy for SE handsets. You just purchase a credit, get the correct cable/drivers, launch the sw, dl the firmware and away you go.

Nokias arent quite that easy though, lol.
