Off for a week to Benidorm...

Hi guys, I'm wanting to go to Benidorm on April 1st (no fools please ) and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a good deal? Ideally the holiday should be as cheap as possible and leave from Glasgow INT or Prestwick Airport and I MAY travel to Edinburgh airport but would rather not.

So what deals can you guys find? I've had a look around and can't find anything too cheap. It's just basically a wee holiday for me and the bird to go to. I'll also go 2 or 3 times more this year but I'd rather budget to start with and go on the better holidays later in the year.

The reason I am thinking Benidorm is because its *warm* at the moment, which is good as a few parts of Spain haven't got the weather at the moment.

I would go for either a package deal or a fly/hotel one - albeit I've only done one fly/hotel holiday and that was to Torremolinos last year in April and we stayed in the Beach Club 3* hotel going for all inclusive which was AMAZING, but I've been to Benalmedina in September 2005 and would rather be out of that region...

Sorry for the waffling on, I'm just bored as I am on the nightshift at the moment and I've not got anything to do.

i was in Benidorm in june 2005, its good but its not very rowdy. And most clubs seem to be full of families with little shits running around.

i also saw a very very violent fight outside linikers bar with a bunch of spanish doorman and some northern fuckwit. aforementioned fuckwit got battered for trying to screw the doorman out of drug money. (The doormen also sel drugs by the way, if you didnt already get that).

check out the Terra Mitica theme park aswell, its pretty cool. Also the Water Park is well worth a visit (the name escapes me)



Chaplins is probably the bar out there, but Lennons and Champions bar are also good. (champions had a mechanical bull to ride, its great watching the girlies bouce around then fall off, desperatly trying to cover there shame!!

Obviously Linikers bar is the place to watch the World Cup.

Ooops, sorry for not replying last week.

Holiday was ace, we stayed in the holiday centre apartments 2*. They were basic but clean. The whole time we stayed we only got the beds changed once. I thought it would have been more but oh well. We didn't have a TV or anything like that, just essentials. We were supposed to be staying in other apartments but we got moved for some reason before we even got there lol.

The weather itself was amazing, we ate in a pub called the Scottish Corner most of the time which was situated next to the beach up a set of stairs you can't really miss it to be honest, great pub and great food. The owners told us the first night we stayed that it was gonna be thunderstorms for the rest of the week but we never saw one drop of rain through the holiday, so that was a good thing and the weather was in its 30's most of the time.

Since we went quite early in the season there was no clubs open or anything like that so we just went to the locals for a few (no celic pubs as they were playing their 'irish' music quite a lot. So I got drunk quite a bit alone as you can imagine.

The rep we had was OK but she tried to con us out of money to go see Pirates, I think she was charing something like 46 euros each but we got them through the people in the Scottish Corner for 30 euros each. Pirates was amazing, it was the best ever show I've seen in my life, what those people can do is unbelievable, I didn't even think half of that stuff was possible. The entertainers were great and they really knew how to get a crowd going and make it a night to remember, so a big thumbs up for that.

It was a quiet sorta holiday what we were looking for but I was looking for it to be a little bit busier, but oh well what do I expect for that time of year?

I wouldn't go back at that time of year again but I would go back to Benidorm again as it was a lovely place and friendly people all round.

I'd give it a 7/10 (leaving the apartments out I'd give them 4.5/10)

It must have been 8 years ago I was out there but it was a right laugh back then, was Chaplin's the one on the square round the left corner from Linekers where's you'd walk down the stairs or was that Lennon's?

Back from a fortnight in Benidorm. Although the place is a shithole (and smells of shit) nearly everywhere you go it was a great laugh. The place seems to attract a lot of binlids from England and Scotland (including myself!). The best bars I found were Chaplins and Cafe Benidorm, the nightlife on the whole was very good and surprisingly very cheap in most places. Food cheap too. Spent £800 in 2 weeks and this included 14 heavy nights out, loads of food, a bit of shopping and a tattoo. So not too bad at all. The beaches were nice, particularly in the old town. I'd recommend it for a stag weekend or a week holiday but two weeks was far too long for there. If anyone needs to know anything about Benidorm give me a pm.

Oh yeah and I went to see the Sticky Vicky sick show, nice light bulb trick!
