my dvdrw drives aren't showing up on my computer?

hi

i don't use this pc much but have noticed that if i go into "my computer" that they don't even show up

its a pioneer 105 and a 106

i've been into device manager and they are there but have an ! mark on them, any advice on what to do??

Try reinstalling the drivers, right click on them in device manager and click update drivers.

It's bound not to be that simple and I bet you've already done it but better to be safe and mention it.

could be a registry problem. Device manager should give you an error code if there is a problem

yes m8 tried reinstalling and unistalling then reinstalling and still the same.

where will i be able to find out what the code means m8?? ms updates/support??

you don't need drivers for cd+dvd drives .Check all cables and power connectors.

rt clck mycomputer, go to manager, goto disk management, and it should show up all your drives. If the ones that you have fitted are not on the list, then check jumper settings etc. If they are there, try re-assigning the drive letter to one that is not in use, rt click on the relevant drive and change drive letter. My old pc used to lose the dvd drive if I plugged in a usb flash drive, as it would name it the same letter as my flash drive, and in my computer, it would only show the pen drive and not the dvd

make sure the master / slave pin selection has been configured on the back of your drives. If both are set to master they wont show up and vice versa. (they didnt on mine anyway)
