Xbox Chip Stops working ???

Ive had my xbox chipped a good while now and im not sure what chip was in it becasue it was done by some guy while i wasnt there. anyway its one that you hold the power button down until it goes orange. Recently it started to flash and green and orange but would still work the other day when i went to turn it on it just goes green no matter how long i hold it down for. So i cant acces Evo X dashboard and its as if a chip was never there in the first place

any ideas ??

When you turn on the Xbox, does it boot too the dashboard.

Have you checked to make sure the D0 wire is still in place.

Nope it goes straight to the reular legit dashboard and i havent looked inside yet im shite when it comes to wiring will have a look though. i have no idea where the chip is lol.

M8, if its going to the legit dashboard, then it could be a modchip failure or more likely the D0 wire has came loose. The D0 wire is the connection that allows then Xbox to boot to the modified bios, if that comes loose then it will revert to the MS bios.

if the Do is loose it would likely frag (if all other connections are ok).

Possibly that the bios has become corrupt - or the dash as that matter (If using latest X2 or X3 bios check the CONFIG INI file)

Also check to make sure that you are booting with the chip enabled

If the D0 is disconnected it will go to the m/s dashboard.

not sure why u have dug up this old thread, but in the interest of keeping it accurate..

the machine will still frag with a disconnected D0 if the harddrive isnt locked or the msdash is in someway corrupt.
