    Default temperature monitor

rite, after having the parts sitting here for over 2 months im finally building my athlon 64 system, now the case has got digital temp monitors in the top bay, but the case didnt have any instructions on where to put them, the only thing that it does say is DONT put it between the cpu and heatsink.

So if i cant put it there then where the fuck DO i put it, and does the hard drive one just go on the top of the hard drive, and do i just use a bit of sellotape to attach them???

id really like to use these guys so would be really made up if someone could tell me

    cheers

    pic of the case

I have got a Lian Li sensor which is very similar to this and I have taped one of the sensors on to the back of my video card where the core of the chip sits and the other one is taped to the middle of my primary hard drive on the circular bump bit. Works well for me. I used standard PVC insulation tape but I did get some tape for the sensors which I knackered when trying to stick them down.

i wouldnt worry about it, any temperature reading given out will probably be far too inacurate, you can get software to monitor the temps of your hard drives and gfx cards now anyway and its far more reliable.

I didn't bother using it on the CPU as it is too difficult to get the probe close enough to the CPU to be an effective monitor and I wouldn't trust it near such an expensive part of the PC hence why I used it on the GPU which made more sense to me as I do occasionally overclock the graphics card. You would be able to tape it to the heatsink of the fan setup but as said before it wouldn't really tell you what the temp was. I would use software like Speedfan to do the CPU monitoring.
