M55 POLICE causing motorway havoc

Hi.
Just been to Blackpool today and as you get onto the M55 from the M6 towards Blackpool at the first bridge you come to there were 4 Mobile speed cameras mounted on the bridge on tripods with 3 police vehicals on the bridge as well.

This could have caused a pile up, as one of the warning signs in the central reservation just before the speed trap was showing 30mph.

The road was straight, there were no workmen, there were no hazzards but as soon as they saw the cameras they were all hitting the brakes to get down to 30mph.

The question you ask yourself was the sign lit from somthing earlier or was it to see if you would slow down to 30mph.
Most people were thinking the cameras were set at 30mph and were braking hard.

Me I was just driving along in the first lane watching peeps trying to brake from over 80mph.

On the way back they were still there (over 4hrs later) but my lad said the speed restriction sign was not lit.
I wonder how many were caught?
I wonder if they were getting some cash for the Easter Police ball. lol

They're there every day mate. Not usually in the morning but when I'm heading back towards the M6 around 4pm I see 'em there on that bridge, usually 2/3 cars and 2 cams.

And yes you're right - I see lots of brake lights in my rear view mirror just after the bridge

My fat brother-in-law,and his "mate" were heading down there this morning,in seperate cars.

My mate gave me a lift to and from Manc down the M55 today and there were loads of very fast slowdowns there. Wasn't as bad as on the M60 though on the way to Stockport.

Too Right i do that frigger every day, and have been caught once.. half a sleep.. comin back from shift... ooops... Some Speed Camera's are just = Get Some Money in for the Christmas Party Wank....

The ****s were just off the end of the M56 last month in a plain backed van with open "flaps" at the top with the cameras pointing out. Then about 200 yards down the road after a bend (where you couldn't see em) there were two cars parked on the bridge waiting to pull people over.

I was mulling down the M4 today (120 plus) and hope no cams were on there today.
