    News The DF Mural

For those that missed the original thread, the basic idea of the mural is for everyone to create their own section, blending part of it into the previous image. All the images are then stitched together to make one enormous, seamless picture.

I'll start the ball rolling with my effort.

The dimensions for the images are 800x400 with a 150 pixel overlap, by which I mean the last 150 pixels of the previous image being used for the first 150 pixels of the next.

If you want some sort of theme to the images you could try and personalise it. In my case I added a few of my favourite pastimes, snowboarding, photography and spending far too much time on these forums.

Before the next person starts on their design can they make a post to let others know, it will then stop multiple people designing using the same overlap. Once you've finished, post it up and then the next person can do the same.

Right, get cracking and let's see what we can come up with.

    EDIT: Mural in progress.
    Spoiler:

NOTE: If this isn't being displayed as 1 long seamless image you're probably using FireFox. Switch to a decent browser like Opera or to a crap one like IE to fix the problem.

One quick thought, if this is popular can we not go in bother directions? Follow on to the left as well then 2 people can be working on it at the same time? Just a thought. Ill be playing soon, just need to find the time

i thought that was a daft idea at first but after a little thought it could be interesting, if we allowed movement north, south, east and west we could do a cross shaped one, then people could fill in the gaps resulting in a huge image. Im not sure if we have enough members creative/talented/bored enough to do that tho

Okay, Nipper has beaten me to the punch for part 2 so I'll do part 3.

Looking forward to seeing what people are doing and adding my own contributions to all this - could be really good if people keep it going.

    Nice one chaps.

    Er, no.

Do you actually read things ?

If you did you'd realise what exactly is going on, and that someone is already in the process of designing the next image.

Well, that was kind of how it worked, with someone already saying they were going to do the second piece etc, and me saying I'd do the third, but doesn't look like it's quite worked out that way.

See what happens now with Nipper and what he says, but basically, if he goes next and then I'll follow him.

    How does that sound?

Wouldn't have made any difference. I've already set out guidelines to avoid this situation and it's been ignored twice already.

Let's wait and see what Nipper has come up with.

Ok I’ve not had a great amount of time to work on myn and what I have done its total crap in my view lol, CzarJunkie you haven’t followed the rules that where set at the beginning but I think yours should be counted as its a good peice of work and Crags should get strait to work following off from yours and ill pick it up when the interest slows down a bit more as it seems there’s a lot more people interested with more time that me and it only seems fair they get a go first.

Hope that’s ok with you slartibartfast.

If people are gonna take forever to get theirs done then this isn't going to work. It's ok saying you are going to do the next part then take forever to do it.

People should try pulling their head out their arses.

Maybe people can say they will go for the next piece, but be committed to a 24hr time scale in doing it, if it's not done, then someone else can opt to do it.
