    Default Insurance write off

Just had my jeep written off by my insurance company after 4 weeks of my policy.(Wife crashed it- her fault).

What I need to know is, will they now cancel my policy and deduct the full years premium out of the payout as I had only paid the deposit.(2 months premium)

    Thanks in advance.

Insurance companies generally require payment of the premium in full before they proceed with your claim in instances such as this.

They will not cancel your policy unless you ask them too, but even if you do, you won't be getting any money back (from the premium that is).

Thanks for the quick reply pegasus.

Would rather keep the policy going if I can for my next car, hopefully I can just carry on paying the monthly premiums.

...also the crash will not take affect until renewal, ie your policy will stay same price, but probably go thru the roof on renewal
