    Default $ky Pricing policy

These guys really do know how to take the piss out of customers,
If you want Sky plus you can have the equipment for £xx and you don't have to pay the extra £10 per month fee aslong as you subscribe to Multi room at a cost of £10. Do they think ppl are that fucking gullible that they think they are doing you a favour ?
And as far as the new HD channels ......... £300 for the kit and the another £10 per month on top of that. So the question is, what is the cost of sending HD signals to you're dish as opposed to the usual digital signals. I know you're gonna say all the cost of the equipment at their end, but at the end of the day they make more than enough profit to be able to improve the services without passing it off to us the customers.
And now that they are gonna lose exclusive rights to the Premiere League footy I can see them losing quite a few customers !!

    I won't be !!

I was just making a point, that at every opportunity they squeeze more money out of their paying customers. If you have a DECT phone BT don't phone you up and demand more money for the better clarity you get from the line they supply do they ? That's because the technology is there and you pay a one off fee to use it. (New phone).
If the water pressure goes up in you're house do you pay extra for it ?
No because the water board have brought their services up to date.

My point is they have the technology there and probably have had it for a few years but now the marketing guys take over and it's a license to print yet more money !
My point is it costs them nothing to supply you with a HD signal to you're box, infact you will probably find that ALL the channels are sent to ALL customers, but without the box and the extra £10 you won't get it, so after paying £300 for the kit why do they need to extract more money each month from customers ?

It is really cheeky. Especially as there are not that many HD channels.

Not in my house they don't.

I have (just) successfully negotiated with them to have the top package at £21 per month for the next 6 months as opposed to paying £42 for it.

oh yeah they are losing exclusive premiership rights - but they will still have the rights to over 80% of the matches when they add then next 2 blocks of rights to the 3 they just bought earlier in the week - they still got the monopoly and you can guarantee that there will be more price hikes before the 2007 season starts

ring up ask to cancel, you'll usually get offered 3 months half price, I've also heard of 6 months half price, 3 months half price rolling (never ends), a free 2nd box, free sky+.

What deal you get is down to the particular operator in cancellations you get, apparently they all have an allocation of freebies, although it probably depends on what package you are on and how long you've been with them.

They will have more HD material to broadcast than any other *broadcaster* . How much HD content does Telewest broadcast ?.
