Default 1st DF Grand Prix !!

any budding racers on the forums ?

was recently at the daytona track at sandown park and top draw it was indeed.....large WIDE track and twin motor karts.

the trouble is finding enuf likewise people who are interested in these things to get a large enuf crowd.

i was thinking with all the posts about peoples speeding in the Legal Section and all the car nuts in the car section, that there might be enuf people on the DF who might fancy it ?

prices can fluctuate depending on numbers and format.
but for a race day (practice, qualiys, heats x3, final) is £50 odd per driver.
it sounds a lot but you wont leave feeling you havnt had a days worth...

anyone up for the 1st DF Grand Prix ?

if interest warrents i will take it to the next step with dates etc...

PS.... if kicks off we will also need....
Prizes - any old kit knocking about at Neo? and im not talking about them 1500 Creative CD drvies either !!!
    1st prize 50 CD Drives
    2nd prize 25 LOLOLOLOL

also pretty young babes scantedly dressed to present all winnings to me as none of you lot are going to get even close....failing any young babes CJ in his staruday going out dress will suffice.

I would be up for it if I didnt have to travel to Surrey to take part. especially when thay have track 15 minutes from where I live in Trafford park.

The topic came up a while back when the Neo guys headed up this way.

How about Milton Keynes? the whole town/city is like a race circuit with all those roundabouts

Interested in this, I have been to daytona about 5 times now and it is a cracking day out, that is as long as not too many people crash, otherwise you spend half the race going aroung with the yellow lights on at 5mph...

Maybe we could get somthing sorted up in Manchester? Im not one for getting pissed up but I like doing stupid things like paintball and driving a transit van at speed so karting must be fun.

Daytona have a site at trafford park and I know there are others in the Northwest. I will even play taxi so people can get pissed, I will stand a chance of winning then.

No it was me, as i sorted out the last one.

Im all up for sorting a DF members only karting day, so check out this site and take a look at the main arena.

    http://www.speedkarting.co.uk/

The package we went for was the Gold Card package.

30 of us took part (but they can cater for bigger parties) and the day consisted of :-

    £65 each

Sign in with Tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival
Full use of all safety equipment and clothing (all freshly washed)
    Briefing explaining rules and regulations

You are given a number which is your number for the day which you use to put on the kart that you will be racing in so you are always in different karts.

Each race is 3 n half laps long...which at first you think thats shite....but believe me its a big track and it fooking takes it out of ya....and everybody i asked after the event agreed that anymore laps would have been to much....you will see what i mean.

You get (i think) 7 races each in different heats and then the final 8 get into the last race.

    Trophys 1st, 2nd and 3rd
    Champers 1st 2nd 3rd
    Laurels 1st 2nd 3rd

Inc in the price is an all you can eat BBQ buffet, the kitchen was very clean and it is a family run kitchen...the only problem was trying to find time to eat in between races cause you are forever keeping your eye on the electronic timimg board for your name to come up for your next race

We were there between 3-4 hours and it was full on all day, everybody that went fully enjoyed themselves and felt that the money was well worth it.

I will start a new thread to see how many are interested.
