I downloaded the crack and it was allowing me to update but I still had those irratating screen prompts coming up so used Fix.exe and it worked a treat.

The no reninstall tool is on the miscrosoft advantage forums, you can get there if you click validation fail details on the little blue star in your system tray

you get the nags on first boot but on 2nd reboot they should go

ive tested on a few machines it works

Will confirm also, tried the fix exe on my lads pc and all is sweet, no nages and just auto updated with sp3, nice one - sorry to doubt!

Looks like M$ are really going to town with this validation thing, thats several versions of the check they've forced upon my system in recent weeks. I guess they cant do much more than a nag screen 'in case' they flag up an installation as pirated when perhaps it's not??

Hiya

Sorry I apologies if i didnt see the thread. But im in a rush to go out now.
So once the notification is cracked and the wga has been disabled, we can still use xp 2 and get its updates ??? Would windows stop working after 30 days still etc ...

You`ll still need to activate XP (to prevent the 30 day thingy I believe), unless your using a corp version.

why dont you system retore to before you installed the update, then ignore or disable the update. Thats if your getting miffed at playing cat & mouse.

1.5.532.2 has been rolled out by Microsoft, the fix is out in the normal places.

Just tried to use this again, I'm guessing from what I have just seen it won't deal with normal 30 day activation? Anyone point me in the right direction for this
