    Default in car dvd saying screen of for safety

    just picked up a in dash motorised screen car dvd player , the unit works ie radio will display on screen, and if you connect to ext sourse you can watch on screen.
    when the screen is out and on it has, picture off for safety displayed.
    have no idea why wonder if someone has any ideas or suggestions.
    any help would be most grateful.

    Basically shows that mate as the unit thinks your car is moving. You normally have a feed from the handbrake to tell the uit that your car is stationary or not.. You can con the unit to display the picture even while you're driving though I'd presume that its illegal..

    My Alpine unit required a Neutral feed to the wire to turn the screen on.

    Hope this is of some help. Also hope you've the wiring diagram!

    i have tried connecting what the instruction book says is the handbrake feed to a live, but it does not remove the message.
    will try to see if there is another one.

    i think its illegal to have a screen within view of the driver if it displays anything other than maps. carputer folk say to just keep some navigation software open and do an alt-tab if you pull up beside a police car but i guess you'd just have to bash the off button

    that is assuming you dont watch it yourself whilst driving(as in for your passengers and at red lights etc. only), if you do try to do that then you should probably invest in a bus pass and hand in ye olde liscense
