DF Adverts?

This may have been said before, can DF not look at commercial sponsorship, this site must get a fair few hits or I am just being totally lame?
I have seen other forums with some kind of Advert board.

I am sure that Rap has considered this, but I do not think DF is here to make money.

I have also suggested referral links for Biggy's but that fell upon deaf ears.

I'm surprised it doesnt have a link/banner to the neo/shop beside the digital forum sign would make good sense and easier to get to the bargains..

plus a lot of punters using the site wouldnt suss right off that neo and df were connected..

please... no adverts... shit man what the fook is going on, we moan about adverts on TV, then we get some sort of rest from people trying to sell us crap on the 'net.. so everyone starts advertising on the 'net too, jesus christ, stop with the shit man

not an advert a banner that links to neo doesnt have to be a pop up "stop with this shit man" a tad extreme dont you think...
the site was started to give tech advice but has proved more popular than even raptor thought methinks..

yeah, but we have to make an effort to get rid of adverts and spy/malware on our computers... I know no-one is suggesting anything of that nature on here, but I'm supprised to see some people (not necessarily people involved in this thread) bitchin about brainwashing adverts on TV n such, an then see people actually askin for more adverts in their lives..

Just took a peek in to the News & Updates forum, there is 8 obvious references to VIP and how to get it on the first page alone, including 1 sticky and 1 announcement. Not to mention the donate button which appears at the top of every single page.

Doesn't the IT field always have a bit of a dip in interest when the wether changes.. people probably wanna get out a bit more that's all. It won't take long for members to put 2 and 2 together about Neo either, there are many threads about that too. Not that I'm moanin about the amount of threads.. I'd much rather that than adverts myself.

im in the middle of coding an ads system that will link directly to the new upcoming neo site

it will show different ads to different usergroups / types of user so depending on your status here youll get some pretty sweet buys

ads wouldnt bother me certainly not being made aware of any nice offers neo might have on offer

plus its a fairly good target audience for anyone in IT to advertise there stuff as you got a market of computer literate people

assume the boys in charge wont have us riddled with ads, but a few well placed ones wouldnt bother me at all

tbh i think if rap feels that ads arent neccessary then we really shouldnt force the subject.. i love the fact that df is privately funded by rap (and members to some extent) and as such doesnt require ads to fund our digital debauchery.

ive seen other forums with google text ads n shit in between posts and its done sparingly but still, if we dont need it... then we dont really need it lol.

i do like the banner ad idea showing different offers and deals for different membership grades.. thats cool.

personally when i joined df one of the main things i liked about it was it was totally ad free.

it would have detracted from the excellent content imo.
