Wondering if anyone has come accross one that doesn't mean paying Royal Mail ££££££ ?
In the middle of making a PHP distance from postcodes type app.

Think what you're looking for is this.
At the moment I'm looking for something similar, but the PITA is that I'm looking for a database that can lookup a postcode and return the basic address information (street, town, county) - maybe you found such a thing on your travels?
Anyhow, have fun.
i built a asp.net version of a postcode distance checker using that database on that jibble site.
was pretty easy once you put the data in a database
Yeah I've looked at Jibble, but it only goes down to like half the post code as I remember, thanks for the reply though.
May have got myself the full thing now, will let you know.
ive been looking for a complete postcode / address lookup database, the PO paf one is very expensive. please let me know if anyone finds one thanks
Royal mail do give you 3 postcode free per day
I would be interested in a full postcode database too.
At the moment, the only thing I have is a database of the first segement and also the corresponding longitude and latitude (for use in calculating approximate distances).
This might be what your looking for mate.

Don't have enough posts to see these links yet...
I don't think I was being that blatant
The post office has a free postcode finder all you do is register and you get several free per day. Hope this helps?
NoMercy is not looking for a postcode finder. Like he said in the original post he is developing a distance calculator in PHP. He is looking for something that has the full postcode with long and lat.
I am also looking for something like this. However jibble do offer postcode long and lat but for postcode area rather than full postcodes. I was hoping there was a free one available for download that has the full uk postcode (free of course).
