not strictly for this section, but was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good photo printer? - not sure whether to get one of the little portable type ones (no A4 printing) or a bigger one.
cheers

I've got a HiTi 640PS dye sub and it's very good. I think it's been discontinued now and replaced with the 641PS.
There's no worrying about clogged heads etc with these, you buy a pack of 50 sheets of paper and it comes with a ribbon that does exactly 50 prints. Once you've printed 50 pics you bin the ribbon.
Although they're convenient, if you're going to be regularly running off 30 or 40 prints at a time then it's much cheaper to do it via an online service or at a supermarket etc where you'll be paying around 6p a print as opposed to 35 or 40p.
That's the big downside with most home printing, the running costs. Sometimes it can work out cheaper to bin the whole printer and buy a new one rather than replace the empty ink cartridges !!
Hi,
I bought the Canon IP4200 and I have to say that the print quality is superb. I printed an A4 picture of my children (taken on my 2.0 megp Fuji camera) and the print quality is a good as the High Street developers. Non OEM carts are just starting to become available on Ebay but you need to transfer the chips from 'real' Canon carts to get them to work.
