Does Pipex Cap? + Moving ISP Advice

well so far not impressed, it's like there blocking downloading torrents as everything is still not getting above 2 kbps

I've tried a number of computer reboots, rebooting and resetting the router, playing with settings on router, also tried laptop for torrents and still the same.

The connection has also been on and off all day.

I don't know what the hell they are playing at but I'm giving it a month and im moving back to pipex.

well ive been banned from maxadsl.eu for complaining about them....

feel free to pm any of the guys on there and tell em about df..

theres a few guys on there who would like it here i think, such as Cozzy... and a few of the other ace customers who are currently being told to stfu about it all

id pm him myself but ya know.. i cant lol.

well i've not lost anything really, infact i've gained because current pipex solo customers who are on normal adsl cannot regrade to get adsl max, so when i go back to them I will get it (hopefully)

I've emailed ace and they have said I can go after one month.

i wouldnt touch pipex with a bargepoll any more.

especially not since all contracts are now 12 months despite how long uve been with em.

Sent cozzy a pm for ya. Was reading through his posts and thought he was DF material myself lol.

Maybe I should send Steve of Ace a pm to telling him about this place. Give him a chance to give us a bit of feedback

i dont think steve would join our little community tbh lol, but hes welcome to if he wishes..

always worth a shot.. even if hed rather just join as a member as opposed to an ace rep.

I cant understand why I'm getting 280kbps on downloads via normal internet apps and nothing over 30kbps on torrents.

Should I be emailing them and asking

ok this is getting stupid, torrents and usenet speeds are dire, Ace must be inforcing some kind of limiter here, I've emailed them but they havent replied (i wonder why)

I'm going to be looking for another ISP if this doesnt improve

I just left Pipex and moved to cable but never ever got capped by pipex and I was downloading loads. I had two warning letters which I just ignored and they still never traffic managed me. The only reason I left is I thought they were taking the piss charging 34.99 for a 2 meg connection and no way of upgrading to 8meg for existing customers. Also had there phone package which was a con because they offered 2000 free minutes with your package which I updated to but then they started charging 5.99 for there 5000 minutes which I did not want, could I get them to change to the 2000 minutes I gave up and have now thankfully moved. Pipex were good back in the day but their now wank! and it seems mot other ISP are following suit
